When to replace the mounts
- the rubber has cracked, swollen from oil or fuel, or separated from the metal
- the engine shakes more at idle
- banging when engaging forward or reverse gear
- the engine has sagged, so its alignment with the shaft or saildrive is off
Inspect the mounts when preparing the boat for the season. After replacement, have a mechanic check the alignment of the engine with the shaft.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have mounts for a Yanmar engine with a saildrive?
Yes: for the GM20 and 2YM15 with SD20 or SD25 saildrive, and for the 4JH3 and 4JH4 with SD40 or SD50 saildrive.
Should all the engine mounts be replaced at once?
It is recommended, because the mounts wear at about the same rate. A new mount next to old, worn ones takes a greater load and the engine stays out of alignment.
Do you source mounts for other marine engines too?
Yes, on request. Send the engine model and a photo of the old mount.
