Warranty
Diesel Dijelovi gives a 6-month warranty on spare parts from the invoice date. In addition, consumers have a 2-year statutory guarantee against material defects, from delivery, on all goods they buy, parts and generators alike.
- Warranty on parts
- 6 months from the invoice date
- Statutory guarantee for consumers
- 2 years from delivery
Warranty on spare parts: 6 months
The warranty is valid for 6 months from the invoice date, on two conditions:
- the parts are fitted in an authorised workshop;
- no used parts or parts from other manufacturers are used alongside our parts.
If either condition is not met, this warranty does not apply. For consumers, this does not affect their rights under the statutory guarantee.
Statutory guarantee for consumers: 2 years
If you are a consumer, that is, an individual buying outside your trade or business, the seller is liable for material defects that appear within 2 years of you receiving the goods. This applies by law, regardless of the manufacturer's guarantee or our warranty on parts.
When goods have a defect, you can demand:
- repair or replacement;
- a price reduction or termination of the contract, if repair or replacement is not possible, is not carried out within a reasonable time, or the defect remains.
The statutory guarantee is free of charge for you, and you cannot waive it by contract.
Harmonised notice on the statutory guarantee
Your rights under the statutory guarantee are summarised in a harmonised notice prescribed at European Union level. The notice opens from the link Your rights under the statutory guarantee, which also appears on every generator page, in the basket and at checkout.
Könner & Söhnen generators
Consumers have a 2-year statutory guarantee on generators bought in our webshop. If the generator also comes with a manufacturer's guarantee, its terms are set out in the documentation supplied with the product. A manufacturer's guarantee comes in addition to the statutory guarantee, not instead of it.
How to report a defect
Report a defect as soon as you notice it, by email to info@dieseldijelovi.com or by phone. Please send:
- the invoice or order number;
- a description of the defect and when it appeared;
- photos or a video, if you have them;
- for parts: the make, model and serial number of the machine or engine, and who fitted the part.
We will tell you how and where to send the product. You can also lodge a written complaint by post; the procedure is described in the General terms and conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Does the warranty apply if my mechanic fitted the part?
The 6-month warranty on parts applies if the part was fitted in an authorised workshop. If you are a consumer, the 2-year statutory guarantee applies regardless of that condition.
How long is the warranty on a generator?
Consumers have a 2-year statutory guarantee from delivery. If a manufacturer's guarantee also exists, its terms are in the documentation supplied with the generator.
Do businesses have the same statutory guarantee as consumers?
Not to the same extent. Customers buying for their trade or business are covered by our warranty on parts and the general rules of the law of obligations, not by the special consumer rules.
